Yes. The band performs outside of school hours throughout the school year. This includes concerts, marching festivals, football games, basketball games, and if the student elects to, honors band. Attending these performances is a great experience and is how the band shares their talents with others.
Instruments can be checked out from the school, rented or purchased. There are several businesses in the area where you can rent or buy instruments. Additionally, the school has a library of instruments available for use, which are assigned to students as long as they are available.
Absolutely! You can start fundraising for your 8th graders high school band fees. Fundraising is a great way to ease the financial burden and ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in the high school band program.
There are numerous fundraising opportunities put together by the Band Boosters throughout the year. Check our Fundraisers tab periodically and sign up for the Band App for information about the fundraisers.
And if you have ideas for fundraisers, contact our Band Boosters.
The band has an Angel Fund, funded by generous donations from band parents and community members, to help students who need assistance with their band fees. Students also have the opportunity to fundraise to help with their band fees. See the Fundraising tab for more information and contact Mr. Brown at jbrown2@goddardusd.com if you need assistance with your student's band fees.
